Two years in Cazals 46

I feel so fortunate to have be able to rent this perfect little place in Cazals. Initially I was just looking for a studio to work, but it has turned into an opportunity to share my paintings with visitors. I’m in the centre of the bastide, on Rue de République, with a Restaurant next door and a bar opposite. What could be better? The market in the town center is busy on a Sunday morning. I make sure that I’m always open between 10h – 13h.

I know how it feels to be retissant to go into a gallery or an expensive looking shop when you have no intension to buy, but I just want to say that I’m delighted when people just want to browse. I paint because that’s what I do; what I’ve always done and because it continues to fascinate me, but if my work touches other people it’s confirmation of a shared emotion and obviously that’s a joy. Criticism and discussion can be useful, also silence.
