Going nowhere
This is one of my latest pastel works and seems particularly appropriate during this period of confinement. I had this idea for an image and started the painting almost a year ago. It has been through many changes since as I’m not in the habit of making a composition from imagination.
Once I’d settled on the proportions of the background fields however, it helped me go out out side and take inspiration from the landscape in evening light.
