Painters in residence at Bonnemare
I am excited to be among the 10 artists invited by Sergei Pietila to an art residency in the heart of Normandy at Château de Bonnemare, from the 13th to the 20th of September.
The objective of the event is to support artists and create a creative environment in which to work. There will be an exhibition at the end of the week when the chateau and the gardens are open to the public. If you would like to visit, you can find more information here.https://www.bonnemare.com/1569/
I will be there painting, or maybe pastelling around the gardens each day. It’s difficult to know what will inspire, but I am holding out hope for the monuments and statues as much as the landscape!

Here’s an update and photos of some of the work produced during my excellent stay at Bonnemare. It was a truly enriching experience working with other international artists. We were given free access to the gardens and comfortable accomadation in the chateau grounds. A visit to the the nearby chateau of Ambleville was a bonus. https://www.parcsetjardins.fr/jardins/501-chateau-et-jardins-d-ambleville
Working on landscapes alongside Sophie Amauger and Florence Petouny was inspiring, and the portrait ‘duel’ with Sergei, was great fun.
