Pandora’s box
This oil painting has taken eight years from the initial commission to the installation. It was a commission given to me by the writer Indra Sinha of ‘Animal’s people’ fame. The idea came from a a text I’d written for our writer’s group; the opening of Pandora’s box. I mentioned to Indra that it was odd I could imagine so vividly a scene to write, but found painting from imagination really difficult. He then proposed a realisation in oil paint, 2 metres by 3 meters for a wall in his house.
