International Pastel Festival 2025

This is the 15th time that I’ve participated in the salon and I was honoured to show as ‘Invitée d’honour in 2022. The first time that I exhibited with the Societe de pastellistes de France was twenty years ago in 2004 in Paris when Jean Pierre Merat was President and the great portraitist Ken Paine was exhibiting. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of showing with them in Tornus, St Florent le Veil, Paris and Feytiat.

The société has provided a constant possibility for me to show my pastels regularly to a wide public.

This year it is the turn of Olga Abramova, as Invitée d’honour. Olga is a Russian Artist, one of the founders of the Nationale Union of Pastellistes of Russia. Her technique is an original combination of delicacy and bold mark-making. She combines pastel, acrylic, gouache and charcoal.

Other works which particularly struck me at this year’s exhibition, were the pastels of the American artist ‘Corey Pitkin, ‘Cardinal’ by Sergei Pietila, Le series of chinese craftsmen by Alexis Le Bourge and the landscapes by Florence Penouty, There were many others that I appreciated. The vernissage was a fabulous occasion to catch up with old friends.

This year I’m exhibiting 8 pastels.
