Four-day residential pastel course with Artist Penelope Milner in the Midi Pyrenees.

This summer I’m delighted to be able to offer a four day pastel workshop and retreat at the beautiful Couvent de Vaylats with full board and logings at a very reasonable price.

I’m a figurative artist, specialising in pastel and oil paint. I’m also passionate about sharing my knowlege. Over the years I’ve taught many pastellistes who have gone on to exhibit and teach in their own right. I believe that drawing and technique are skills which can be taught. I’m happy to take beginners, as well as advanced pastellistes, if they are open minded and willing to learn.

During my courses we cover a wide variety of subjects; still life and landscape, as well as figure and portrait painting. I encourage my students to push the boundries of their artistic vision, to explore new ways of working and to enjoy the creative process.

For a long time I’ve wanted to teach a course in a beautiful place with a light spacious studio:

A place where we could all stay together to paint and talk about art in the evenings if we wish,

Where the food and beds would be provided, conditions enabling us to engulf ourselves in the

buisness of creativity yet allowing for individual flexibility and comfort.

Price.

Tuition: 385€ for four days. 9h30-12h30 14h30-17h30. The time table may be flexible according to the weather. Early morning and evening light in summer can be particularly inspiring.

There will be the possibility of taking a trip out to one of the local beauty spots.

The opportunity of working from a model

This fee includes hire of the large studio.

Easels and tables are provided.

I accept a maximum of 10 students.

Transport to and from Cahors station can be arranged.

Full board and loging, with individual, recently renovated bedroom and onsuite bathroom. 392,50€ or 469€ for two sharing a double room. Price for four nights and four days with all meals.

There is also the possibility of renting one of the two independant gites in the parc of the couvent. 375€ for one person, 506€ for two. Meals included of course.
