Four day pastel workshop in France

Capturing light in pastels. A four day pastel workshop in France with the prize winning artist and experienced teacher Penelope Milner.

Come and join us to explore pastel painting in the beautiful Lot valley. Personalised instruction, demonstrations and a friendly group atmosphere.

2nd and 3rd of July, landscape en plein air. How to create landscapes that go beyond the photograph.

4th and 5th of July, figure and portrait., interior and exterior. Working with a model and photographs.

This formula allows for students to join in for the whole course, or to choose the option of 2 days.

This is a non residential course. Students can be accommodated in one of the many gites and chambre d’hotes in and around the village of Catus, 5 minutes walk from the studio.

Midday meal with locally sourced home cooked food, tea, coffee and aperitifs are included in the price.

There is a restaurant, supermarket and bar in the village. The historic town of Cahors is a 20 minute drive away.

We meet at 9.30 and continue together through the day until 5.30 or 6. Depending on the group and the weather, there is the possibility  to swim in the pool or in the local lake or to relax in the hammocks under our magnificent ash tree.
